(f) Questions

St. Joseph Sound GoBoat FAQ

Do I need boating experience to explore St. Joseph Sound in a GoBoat?

No. A GoBoat is steered with a simple throttle and moves at about 5 mph, so it feels closer to a slow, quiet paddle boat than a powerboat. We walk you through the controls and the safety basics before you leave the shore, and life jackets are worn as instructed.

Where do we launch for a St. Joseph Sound cruise?

We launch in Dunedin on St. Joseph Sound. The exact launch and landing spot is confirmed after your request, based on weather, tides, water conditions, safe access and local operating requirements.

Is St. Joseph Sound good for shelling?

It's some of the best shelling water on this coast — quiet beaches, shallow sandbars and clear water between the barrier islands. A GoBoat lets you cruise the shoreline at your own pace and stop where it's allowed and conditions are right, and our St. Joseph Sound Beaches & Sandbars experience plans the day around it.

Can we bring our dog?

Yes. Dogs are welcome on Coastal Cruisers GoBoat cruises, and there is a dog-friendly cruise option on the booking page if you want us to plan the day around it.

What should we wear?

Shoes that can get wet and quick-dry clothes are the smart call — water sandals, old sneakers or bare feet, and anything you don't mind a splash on. Depending on where we launch you may wade a few steps to board, and on a beach launch you'll walk out a bit further.

What does a St. Joseph Sound GoBoat rental cost?

Our fall launch special (through November 30) is $149 for a Double and $129 for a Single for two hours on the water. From December 1, two hours is $149 for a Single and $179 for a Double. Each extra hour is $50, featured experiences use the same prices, and you pay in full when you book.

Is someone out on the water with us?

Yes. You drive your own GoBoat and set the pace, but Brad from our team is always out on the water nearby — wave him over any time you'd like help, guidance or tips on where to go. We also confirm your date, time and meeting spot before you head out.

Beaches, sandbars and nowhere to be.

Tell us your date and how long you want to be out there. We will confirm the rest.
